Product Introduction

Heat-strengthened glass (also known as semi-tempered glass) is an intermediate product between standard annealed glass and fully tempered glass. It undergoes a controlled heating and quenching process, which enhances its mechanical strength (approximately 2× stronger than annealed glass) while avoiding some drawbacks of fully tempered glass, such as spontaneous breakage and excessive optical distortion.

Unlike tempered glass, which shatters into small, harmless granules, heat-strengthened glass breaks into larger, radial cracks but remains mostly intact, reducing the risk of sudden collapse. However, it is not classified as safety glass due to its fragmentation behavior.
